The Sundance Film Festival begins this Thursday (January 16th) and runs through January 26th in Park City, Utah. I will not be making it out to the festival this year (but check out Trent's coverage/experience of last year's in this episode of The Film Tome Podcast). I certainly won’t miss bundling against the cold or the contagious flu but I will miss the theater bustling and contagious cinephilia to be found in abundance there. Myself and a co-worker have assembled a list of our most anticipated films for the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. The below video countdown is the result of that endeavor (more words below the imbed):

Besides these 10 there are a great many films premiering or otherwise showing at this year’s Sundance. Check out the official lineup to explore the 100+ features, not to mention the dozens of short films available. Also, for the first time Sundance is including a program specifically for children. I covered this news in an earlier post.

I leave with you with a fascinating infographic that’s been going around which demonstrates the popularity and importance of the Sundance Film Festival (click to enlarge):

Is there a Sundance film you’re especially looking forward to? Please share in the comments below. If you missed it, last week I shared “Top Ten: Most Anticipated Films of 2014.” The only overlap here is The Raid 2: Berandal, which topped the above Sundance list. See what it was topped by in the year entire.
