In addition to my personal 31 Days of Horror (movie marathon) I am part of a 31 Days of Halloween (horror movie review series) with my job at MOVIECLIPS. Each day during the month of October we are going to post a two-man conversation/review of a different horror movie. Yours truly will be featured in a few of these. On the 11th Day of Halloween Emily and Ryan reviewed The Others:

(Curator's Note: On the horror reviews I did not sit in on I am going to be offering "My Take" if I have seen the film in question.)

My Take: Yet another horror film I'm due to revisit. The Others has garnered its fair share of attention and accolades since its release 12 years ago. This slow-burn horror perhaps suffered by coming out in the long and might wake of The Sixth Sense, but tackled the ghost story in a significantly different and even darker way. It's scares really paced themselves and when they came they really worked. The whole "I am your daughter!" scene was one of the best frights of my youth.
